Doggie Dish: True Story!

I can't believe this actually happened. And I did this to my neighbor.
She came over, and I had been raving about my pork roast that I cooked earlier in the week.
She was eager to try some of my cooking. So I served her a plate of the leftovers. It smelled great.

The second bite into it, she asks me, "Is there dog food in this?!"
Oh my god!!! It can't be. At that moment I realized I had managed to get some of Luli's dry dog food pieces into the roast. And she was eating it.
I hadn't realized this had happened until she asked the dreadful question, and was picking out little round pieces! How embarassing. I could die of laughter. What are the odds that a) I get dog food into a meal, b) not realize it, and c) serve it to my neighbor on her first try of my cooking!

It was then that I discovered what happened:
Earlier that day, I was serving Luli her food. I thought it would be tasty to drizzle a little bit of the pork sauce over her food. When I was pouring, the bowl fell out of my hands and on top of her dry dog food. I quickly picked it up, checked and all looked fine.
I thought only the outside of the dish had hit, but apparently, it scooped out some of the dog pieces in that moment. Since the roast was about the same color of the dog food, I didn't notice it. So I put the leftovers away and carried on.

My poor neighbor. Luckily she has a dog too and is nice enough not to hate me for serving her dog food. And she was even nice enough to say "but your roast was good!" hahaha. Funny thing too, how did she know what dog food tasted like? =O

Talk about an embarassing but hilarious incident. I now have my reputation in the neighborhood: don't eat Michelle's cooking!
But I can't stop laughing. I just had to take a picture of the evidence. The dry dog food is in the upper right side of the dish. Eww!
